Sessions

In April 2025 Holly, with the help of a few others started up a women's section and it's gone from strength to strength - with over 30 ladies now registered and regularly attending.

There are now two sessions a week available to players.

Thursday sessions are separate and the ladies train separately to the men. This is ideal for beginners and the more experienced players. Monthly subs for ladies who only attend on Thursdays are £10 per month.

The Thursday sessions are designed to be all inclusive and there is something for everyone. The session includes a combination of fun drills and skills and a small game at the end. Sometimes the group is split so the more experienced players can practice together leading up to a competition or league fixture. Most of the time the drills are set up so they can be made easier or more difficult depending on what the individual wants to improve.

Monday sessions are mixed and our ladies train at the same times as the men. This is ideal for experienced lady players who want to challenge themselves further and enjoy playing games with and against the men. Monthly subs for both sessions are £15.

Competition

Ladies walking football starts competitively at the age of 40. There are currently categories for 40s, 50s and 60s. Women are also allowed to play in the next age group up within a mixed team. For example, ladies in their 50s can compete in the TVWFL 60s divisions.

We entered our first Ladies' team into the Thames Valley Walking Football League in September 2025 and the season finished in February 2026. The team got better and better each round and we won the league 6 points clear of the runners-up. The ladies have now been promoted to division 2.

From March 2026 we are entering a second team into the league and they start in division 4 of the league. We have high hopes for them already and we are always looking for more players to strengthen our growing section.
